Ragdoll: The new dark-comedy thriller is perfect for Killing Eve fans

If you’re anything like us, you’ll go wild for a new crime thriller, and the more dark and twisty it is, the better. Sound like you? Then Ragdoll will be right up your street, starring the likes of Lucy Hale and based on a bestselling novel by the same name.

After episode one aired, reviews have been mixed but mainly positive, with The Guardian giving it four out of five stars and also branding it “this year’s goriest murder drama.”

The series — which is made by the same people as Killing Eve — is sure to delight fans of the crime genre. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

What’s Ragdoll about?

Ragdoll is based on the novel by Daniel Cole of the same name. The dark comedy sees three London Met police detectives make a harrowing discovery: a cadaver that consists of six different people sewn together like a puppet, or as the show’s title suggests, a ‘ragdoll.’

The series centres around the search for the killer, but things get complicated when one of the detectives, DS Nathan Rose, becomes the killer’s next prospective target.

Rose has his own complex past, having just returned to the police force following a two year stint in a psychiatric facility after committing GBH at a court hearing.

All this makes for a twisted, gruesome, and gripping plot line peppered with moments of dark comedy.

Who’s in it?

The three lead detectives, DC Lake Edmunds, DS Nathan Rose, and DI Emily Baxter are played by Lucy Hale, Henry-Lloyd Hughes, and Thalissa Teixeira respectively.

Also joining the cast are Ali Cook as DCI Simmons, Michael Smiley as DS Finlay, Natasha Little as Andrea Wyld, Clive Mendus as Dr. Adrian Thompson, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Joel Shepton, and Perry Jacques as Robert Maloney.
