Sisley Water Infused Second Skin Foundation

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I have honestly been dying to try this new base from Sisley. It’s as perfect as I’d hoped it would be and whew, thank goodness for that. It’s very expensive at £68 and I need to be able to say that it’s worth the spend if I feel it is and honestly, that bar is high because we have bases at all price levels nowadays that do a great job. If anyone remembers the discontinued Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation HERE, it’s something akin to that in texture but elevated almost beyond recognition.

I somehow managed to select my shade from the shade finder which has boosted my confidence in that mechanic even though it’s rather a simplified one. The USP of this particular base is that it contains skin care ingredients and while that’s not unusual in itself, the texture and performance of it indicates that they are the right ingredients to make a difference.

As you can see, it’s as fluid as it sounds. I’ve used it two or three times now and the best brush that I have for it is Clinique’s HERE (a small reduction on Feel Unique) because it buffs the liquid perfectly for a seamless finish. Actually, that’s a no-regrets brush for anything at all. The skin care ingredients are all based around hydration and brightening so it’s ideal for older skin. Hyaluronic acid, konjac microspheres, aquatic mint and plant based sugar for moisture and kiwi and acerola extracts for radiance. Sisley uses an ‘Aqua-Lock’ complex which I can’t quite drill exactly down from the listing, but whatever it is, I can say that in combination with the other ingredients, made my skin feel like silk all day.

These pictures are a couple of stills that I grabbed from my Instagram video (HERE) trying it on to camera. The feel is so light and airy giving a satin finish that I feel veers to dewy. My skin looked smooth and lightful, flexible and soft in Shade 2N (there are 18 shades) so really I have no complaints at all. It’s 30ml which looks very small but I appreciate the fact that it’s not packaged to make it look more than there really is. You need a very small amount for the entire face so I can see it lasting a good while, and I felt that the longer I wore it the more it became the aforementioned ‘second skin’. Really, I am very pleased with it. Someone on Instagram was asking for more clarification of the texture so I said it’s like Chanel Sublimage Foundation and Chanel Water Tint had a love child – and it’s Sisley Water Infused Second Skin Foundation. I’d urge you test in store, but if you know your Sisley shades or feel confident with a shade finder, it’s a very high recommend. You can find it at SpaceNK HERE.
