Everything You Need To Know About Our Edited Breakout Box
For so many of us, the new year is a time to refresh our skincare routine, brush up on ingredient knowledge, and make changes that lead to healther, happier skin in the year ahead. Breakouts and acne are amongst the most-read topics here on Edited, which is why we chose to make them the focus for our very first Edited beauty box, The Breakout Box.
After years of testing products and reviewing them on BEAUTY BAY Edited, we’ve put together an edit of our tried-and-tested favourites for breakout-prone skin. From targeted treatments to daily basics, this is the ultimate one-stop-shop of skincare must-haves, housed all in one box, and available for just £40 (that’s a saving of over £200)!

DERMALOGICA BREAKOUT FOAMING WASH
Cleansing is the cornerstone of a good skincare routine. There’s no point applying fancy serums and treatments if your skin isn’t clean and your pores aren’t clear to allow ingredients to penetrate. Dermalogica’s Breakout Foaming Wash is a refreshing cleanser with spot-clearing properties, due to the inclusion of ingredients like salicylic acid and tea tree.
MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY WITH ALOE, CHAMOMILE AND LAVENDER
Another product that will help to keep skin hydrated without clogging pores. Formulated with a cocktail of skin-soothing ingredients to calm angry, irritated skin, the Mario Badescu Facial Spray has long since been a staple in our skincare routine, and we love that it can be used over makeup.
GLOW HUB PURIFY AND BRIGHTEN SERUM
When you’re prone to breakouts it’s important that your everyday skincare routine is chosen with this in mind. We always recommend usng a serum formulated specifically for breakout-prone skin, like Glow Hub’s Purify & Brighten Serum, a multitasking formula which helps to simultaneously brighten, detoxify, exfoliate, balance, calm, and clear skin. The definition of an overachiever.
ACNEMY ZITCONTROL TREATMENT
Sometmes you get a whole bunch of breakouts all at once, so for these SOS situations we included Acnemy’s Zitcontrol Treatment, which is designed to be applied all over the affected area. It helps to stop stubborn under-the-skin spots in their tracks with its powerhouse of active ingredients, including salicylic acid, zinc, and niacinamide.
BEAUTY BAY DAY ONE MOISTURISER
Most people don’t realise how important it is to keep breakout-prone skin well hydrated. If your skin is hydrated then it’s healthy, and the healtier it is the better able it is to heal and defend itself. I would always recommend using a light-textured formula like the Skincare By BEAUTY BAY Day One Moisturiser. It has a gel-cream formula featuring glycerin and squalane for powerful (but non-pore clogging!) daily hydration.
BLISS BLOCK STAR SPF INVISIBLE DAILY SUNSCREEN
It’s something we preach here on Edited a lot. The most important step in your morning skincare routine is SPF. The Bliss Block Star SPF Invisible Daily Sunsceen protects skin from harmful UV rays (which can worsen breakouts and trigger pigmentation), but feels light on skin and won’t clog pores.
COSRX ACNE PIMPLE MASTER PATCH
The COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches are the OG spot stickers. Made with hydrocolloid, these (almost) invisible stickers work overtime to remove impurities, reduce swelling, keep out bacteria, and conceal redness.
SOLGAR SKIN, HAIR AND NAIL CAPSULES
Healthy skin requires an “inside-out” approach – what we put inside our bodies is every bit as important as what we put on it. Solgar’s Skin, Hair & Nail Tablets include zinc, copper, amino acids, and vitamin C – an edible first aid kit for skin health.
BEAUTY BAY SOOTHE PASTE BLEMISH TREATMENT
So many spot treatments dry out the skin and cause irritation which triggers pigmentation, so we formulated the Skincare By BEAUTY BAY Soothe Paste to calm and nourish skin as well as clear the breakout. The added boost of niacinamde helps to prevent post-breakout pigmentation too. It was a no-brainer to include this in the box!
PETER THOMAS ROTH IRISH MOOR MUD MASK
It’s essential to have a good face mask in our skincare arsenal, both for helping to prevent future breakouts and to treat existing ones. The Peter Thomas Roth Irish Mood Mud Mask is the ultimate detoxifying treatment for stubborn congestion, excess oil, and enlarged pores. Plus, it contains hydrating seaweed extract to maintain hydration levels.
FOREO ESPADA BLUE LIGHT ACNE TREATMENT
For when you can’t get to the salon for a facial… This next-gen device allows to you achieve new levels of breakout-busting from the comfort of your own bathroom. It uses blue LED light and sonic pulsations to reduce inflammation and destroy acne-causing bacteria.
SAND AND SKY CLAY MASK
No Sunday night facial is complete without a clay-based clarifying mask. Perfect for using once a week for keeping on top of skin, the Sand & Sky Clay Mask acts like a reset button for skin. The formula contains multiple forms of clay plus witch hazel and vitamin A to give skin a super deep cleanse.
BEAUTY BAY BHA OVERNIGHT MASK
We all know how frustrating it can be when you feel a spt coming on the night before a big event. Thanks to the Skincare By BEAUTY BAY BHA Overnight Mask, which works while you sleep, you can wake up to clearer, calmer skin. It contains salicylic acid and azelaic acid to target breakouts, pores, and pigmentation.
