A memory foam pillow could be key to a good night’s sleep

Purchasing a memory foam pillow is just one of those things you do when you reach a certain age in life. You know, when you start to make grown up decisions, like ordering a week’s worth of meals from a food delivery service rather than getting a takeaway every night. It might sound boring or dull to some, but adulting is my new-found hobby.

I’ve already made the plunge and bought a memory foam mattress for my bed frame, so it was a bit of a no-brainer for me to start my research on the best memory foam pillow. In my opinion, you can dress your duvet in the best bedding around (cough, silk bedding, cough) but it won’t make all that much of a difference unless you have the foundations to match.

How do I choose a memory foam pillow?

This was the first thing that sprung to my mind. There are so many memory foam pillows on the market, how am I supposed to know which one to get? Are memory foam pillows actually that different from each other… and why do some cost an arm and a leg when others are as cheap as normal pillows

Through my thorough research, I came to the conclusion that it’s better to choose a well-known brand, since cheaper alternatives often mean lower density foam and inexpensive components. Memory foam is made from what is known as ‘viscoelastic’ polyurethane, so that’s what you want to look for when choosing your pillow.

Is memory foam good for your neck?

A contoured pillow can do wonders for neck pain as they can help support your chin and correct your posture, so imagine one made from memory foam. Memory foam doesn’t deflate like a normal pillow can, and doesn’t require ‘fluffing up’ every 10 minutes, which means it’ll keep your head in position while offering firm but comfortable support.
