THE LANESBOROUGH GRILL TO OPEN AT THE LANESBOROUGH HOTEL
The Lanesborough is getting a bit of a makeover this month as the hotel’s restaurant Céleste is being replaced with a new modern British spot The Lanesborough Grill. Chef Shay Cooper will be at the helm, who oversaw The Bingham Hotel and The Goring when they each earned a Michelin star. The new restaurant will live up to the hotel’s rep as being super swanky, the kind of place where you’re encouraged to have a post-dinner cigar on the heated outdoor terrace.
The Grill’s a la carte menu will change with the seasons, but will also have a selection of signatures to be served tableside on trolleys. You can expect dishes such as buttermilk fried quail with mushroom, spring salad & chicken vinaigrette; Hereford beef tartare with potato crisps, cured egg yolk, truffle & sherry dressing; roast turbot on the bone with potted shrimp bearnaise; beef Wellington with royale chestnut mushroom, oxtail & bone marrow potatoes; and Yorkshire rhubarb trifle with earl grey custard & millionaire shortbread. As well as works of art on the plates, The Lanesborough Grill will also showcase works from some of the best contemporary artists in the UK on the walls, which will be available to buy if you’ve really got some cash to splash.
