Celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee At ‘The Superbloom Afternoon Tea’ This Summer

Superbloom – the installation of 20 million plants at the Tower Of London – may be pencilled in for June 1, but you can get in on the flowery celebrations a little earlier at this royal afternoon tea.

The Superbloom Afternoon Tea celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and takes inspiration from Superbloom, meaning diners are in for a vibrant experience.

Created by Executive Pastry Chef, Cherish Finden, the experience takes place in The Orchid Lounge at Pan Pacific London offering a full summer of celebration between May 11 – August 31.

Upon arrival you can can enjoy a few sips of wine from Gusbourne, or get cracking on the vast selection of brews fromt The Rare Tea Company. Guests will then be treated to dishes that nod to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Expect the likes of Golden Raisin & Plain Scones served with Cornish Clotted Cream; Homemade Strawberry Preserve and Kaya Jam alongside a spread of sandwiches; Smoked Salmon with Mustard Butter on Brown Bread; and much more.

But, the four signature dishes are certain to be the real eyebrow-raisers. The Queen ‘honey’ Bee promises delectable flower honey, soft chocolate sponge, and peanut praline; and The Wild Rose presents a plate of English rose macaroon, strawberry and lime jelly. Don’t fancy either of those? No bother, there’s also the Lemon Meringue is a zesty celebration with British lemon shortbread, lemon curd and lemon mouse; and The Tower of London dish serves up pistachio financer, mascarpone and raspberry.

Plus, you’ll find fun and playful elements scattered through the day, including a a tea and biscuit flavoured amuse bouche; street party-inspired Candy Floss; and a Corgi Dog Shortbread. A QR code is also on hand for guests to scan and enter competitions for exclusive Pan Pacific experiences.

To top that off, it’s walking distance from Superbloom itself, providing your idyllic setting for a post afternoon tea stroll.
