Travis Barker went to Robert Kardashian Sr.’s grave to ask for permission to marry Kourtney

Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian‘s relationship has been quite the whirlwind and the more we learn about these two, the more it feels like they’re meant to be. As Kourtney’s family keep pointing out on Hulu’s The Kardashians, we’ve never seen the reality star and Poosh founder this happy and it has a lot to do with Mr Barker.

In the latest episode of the family’s new show, fans got to watch the PDA power couple’s famous engagement unfold but we got an extra surprise when it was revealed that Travis Barker went the extra mile before popping the question by asking Kourtney’s late father, Robert Kardashian, for her hand in marriage before the big day.

Kris Jenner praised the sweet gesture on the third episode of The Kardashian which aired this week (on April 28th), explaining that her future son-in-law paid a visit to her ex-husband’s grave to ask for permission to marry Kourtney.

“He asked for her hand in marriage, and I was like, literally, I want to cry now,” Kris told Kim Kardashian during the episode. “It was so sweet and so tender. And then he said he went to your dad’s grave and asked your dad [for permission], and I just lost it.”

Robert Kardashian, a high profile lawyer who was famed for his involvement in the infamous O.J Simpson trial, died of esophageal cancer in 2003 at the age of 59. His presence has always been felt on the show by his daughters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, making Travis’ decision to involve him in the proposal extra special to watch. In fact, we may even have shed a few tears while watching the episode.

Last month, fans suspected that Travis and Kourtney got married during a trip to Las Vegas, hours after the Blink-182 musician performed at the Grammys. The rumours began circulating after Kourtney shared ten photos of their “practice” ceremony on Instagram

“Found these in my camera roll. Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect. [sic],” she wrote in the caption.

However, the couple, who are also currently trying for a baby, have yet to confirm the news and frankly, something tells us these two will have a huge wedding for us all to watch. In the meantime, we’ll continue to stan their romance!
