Lanolips Vanilla Hand Cream Intense

[unpaid/sample] It’s a good start to the beauty week to have a catch up with brands that I’ve known right from the very beginning. There was a time when I had a Lanolips balm in every pocket and handbag – in fact, several in my handbags because once they introduced coloured versions, they were so spot on with the shades that it was impossible to choose first thing in the morning. Their newest launch is the Lanolips Vanilla Hand Cream Intense and if you love vanilla, you’ll be in 7th heaven.

It’s appropriate that there is a little ice cream design on the front because it actually does smell just like vanilla ice cream. Vanilla isn’t really my favourite scent but the instant soothing and smoothing effect is something anyone would like. There is a Rose Hand Cream Intense which I haven’t tried but it’s a good option if vanilla isn’t for you either. It’s a rich cream with a light consistency that works in perfectly – nothing more to say on that. It’s £8.99.

If you’ve been eyeing up the gorgeous balm lipsticks that have been popping up very firmly in the luxury category, the Lanolips balms will give a very similar effect (less colour choice) if not identical in terms of sheen and conditioning. I am so pleased to have these two – Rose and Perfect Nude – back in my beauty stash. I don’t know if they still have the orange one but it’s a beautiful, uplifting summer colour if they do.

Below is Rose and above is Perfect Nude. I think there are continuing distribution issues – notable by the fact that no store has everything – they have a mish-mash – except for the actual Lanolips site where nothing is on offer and you’ll pay £8.99 (if you like the Rose shade, I have seen that on offer so do a quick google). If you do head to the Lano site you will see they have some ‘jelly balms’ which are new and I have some on their way so I can give them a try. However, £8.99 seems a snip for this balm/gloss hybrid.

Seen in the main picture as well is this Golden Dry Skin Miracle Salve – a do-it-all for lips, hands and cuticles or anywhere that’s dry. It’s got four times the lanolin content as well as manuka honey and vitamin E and I currently have it on a little nick I got from stray brambles in the garden and a patch under my eye from a reaction to a cream I tried. It’s £11.99 HERE. If you have any skin dryness, Lanolips pretty much has you covered – it’s a very useful thing to have in the house. I think my true love will always be the original balms – I’d love to see more shades since they are so spot on for the current trend of colour balms.
