THE TEAM BEHIND NEST AND FENN ARE OPENING RESTAURANT ST. BARTS
They’ve already got Nest in Hackney and Fenn in Fulham, and now Johnnie Crowe, Luke Wasserman and Toby Neill have their sights set on Farringdon. The trio are opening Restaurant St. Barts in Smithfield, overlooking the cloisters of St Bartholomew The Great, and it’s sounding like it’s going to be quite the place. The restaurant will serve a fifteen-course tasting menu, featuring the best hyper-seasonal produce from across the UK, and it’s going to be served in various different areas of the space so you’ll quite literally be going on a journey with your dinner.
Things kick off in the bar with snacks like floral tea-infused beetroot and Welsh wagyu bellini with Exmoor caviar, with following courses like red mullet terrine with salted kohlrabi served at the chef’s counter running alongside the open wood-fired kitchen. Once you’re in the main dining room, which boasts floor-to-ceiling views over the church cloisters, you’ll be onto dishes like native blue lobster with fermented red peppers & British XO sauce, sweetbreads with sunflower & Jerusalem artichoke, Hackney honey & lavender dessert, and a British cheese board with homemade fruit loaf.
There’ll be an optional wine pairing featuring low-intervention bottles, and if you don’t think you can manage the full 15 courses, Restaurant St. Barts will be doing a six-course version of the menu at lunchtimes.
