A Cutting-Edge Taste Of Tokyo Is Coming To London

For four nights only, some of the best sake found in Japan will be on offer at Pantechnicon in the form of a special Twelv. sake pop-up. Only open by invitation, Twelv. is Tokyo’s most exclusive sake bar and focuses on the new wave sake scene. With an emphasis on biodynamic and craft sakes from across Japan, Twelv. matches expert curation with beautiful minimalist interiors.

The sake pop-up finds four rare natural sakes, including a special Twelv. bottling, chosen by Twelv. founder and head sake curator Tacamizuma Norihiro. Coming from all across Japan, the chosen sakes represent the new-guard of contemporary sakes that are bringing new drinkers and producers to the field. Accompanying them is a refined omakase food pairing, from Pantechnicon head chef Chris Golding. The dishes will encompass influences from Pantechnicon’s two restaurants – the Nordic dining room Eldr, and the Japanese restaurant Sachi. Attendees can expect perfectly matched sashimi, smørrebrød, and balsamic-led desserts, among other dishes, that pair with the sakes on offer.

With only 18 guests per event, the sake pop-up is sure to be an intimate, experience-driven one, with Tacamizuma Norihiro hosting. And every detail has been considered. The event will take place in a purpose-built space that nods to the minimalist style of Twelv. and Japanese craftmanship. The glassware has also been carefully considered, as well as the crockery and tableware. With each detail so important to the event, and sure to impress, much of it will be available for purchase from Pantechnicon afterwards. Beautifully crafted glasses and tableware that also serve as a strong reminder of the incredibly unique experience.

The event forms part of Summertime Drinking at Pantechnicon, with Japanese and Nordic pop-ups and experiences throughout the Summer. More details about Pantechnicon’s events can be found at their website.
