This Restaurant Serves Up An Ultra-Unique Nigerian Tapas Brunch • Chuku’s

One of London’s most buzzed about restaurants, Chuku’s, has just revealed their Saturday brunch offering. Billed as the world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant – and London’s only one – Chuku’s is serving up a full table of shareable food, multiple cocktails, and dessert as they offer up Saturday brunch all through June.

Each diner gets three sharing plates of food, three cocktails, and one dessert each. It’s the perfect option for those who wish they could try everything on the menu. As long as your friends don’t mind sharing!

The menu at Chuku’s Saturday brunch

Among the dishes on offer are the Caramel Kuli Kuli Chicken (chicken wings slathered in a salted caramel sauce that has been infused with a peanut spice mix from Northern Nigeria), and the Dodo (fried plantain tossed in a delightful mixture of cinnamon sugar and coconut). There’s also the Beef Ayamase, pulled beef in a spicy green pepper sauce, and an incredible variety of gluten-free, vegan, and meat and fish options.

To wash down the food there are cocktails on offer that also draw inspiration from Nigerian cuisine and culture. Choose from the Chapman Punch – which blends rum with Nigeria’s favourite sweet, citrusy, aromatic drink, Chapman – or the coconut rum and palm wine blending Obi cocktail. The Ginger My Swagger is also on offer, a crowd-pleasing blend of gin, ginger beer, and mint.

But remember to save room for dessert. How could you resist, after all, those plantain waffles or the Chin Chin Cheesecake?

And did we mention that three sharing plates, three cocktails, and one desert per person come at a steal of a price? Just £45 nets you more than enough to stumble home with a full stomach and definite plans to return.

Chuku’s, run by the brother-sister partnership of Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick, arrived in Tottenham in 2020. Following multiple pop-ups around London, crowdfunding allowed the two to invest in a physical location to share their tapas experience. And they’ve since gone from strength to strength, from rave review to rave review.

The Saturday brunch is sure to be popular, with Vogue naming them one of the top brunch spots in London. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to eat your way across Nigeria and sip at unique Nigerian cocktails. Be sure to book soon.
