You Could Have A Sleepover With The Dinosaurs At The Natural History Museum
There’s a reason why whenever museums host late-night sessions, they’re so popular. Museums transform at night into something special and exciting. There’s an air of ‘should I even be here right now?‘ Well, The Natural History Museum is allowing guests to dial that feeling of excitement up to eleven with their Dino Snores sleepover events. That’s right, they’re offering you the chance to have a sleepover with dinosaurs – perfect for all you Ross Gellers out there!
The Natural History Museum will be running both adults-only and kid friendly sessions, so families can also enjoy the action. Currently the adult sessions are available from April – November 2023, while the kid sessions have availability in the months of May and June of 2023. That gives you plenty of time to plan ahead!
Dino Snores for Grown-Ups
The adult sessions prove that sleepovers (and dinosaurs) aren’t just for kids. Sleep over in the Hintze Hall underneath the museum’s beloved blue whale, and on the evening you’ll be treated to a three course dinner and plenty of activities through the night. Enjoy free access to galleries, a pub quiz, a live animal workshop, live performances, and an all-night monster movie marathon. A cash bar will serve up drinks and nibbles until after midnight, with tea and coffee also available late in the night and in the morning. Upon waking up you’ll then be treated to a cooked breakfast, and the opportunity to join a yoga class, should you wish to take it. You might well need to stretch out the effects of the festivities from the night before!

Dino Snores for Kids
Similarly to the grown-ups event, the Dino Snores kid-friendly event is all about night-time exploration and adventure. After setting up camp in one of the museum galleries, kids will be able to explore the museum by torchlight, create their own memento in the dinosaur t-shirt workshop, and take in an educational science show presented by a Museum scientist. It’s then off to bed at midnight, as breakfast is served bright and early so everyone can enjoy a trail around the museum’s iconic galleries ahead of their opening to the public.
The Dino Snores for Kids events also offers up VIP (Very Important Palaeontologists) tickets that treat ticket holders to their new Camp Stegosaurus experience. On top of everything the Dino Snores events already offer, VIPs get a goodie bag, a pre-packed snack lunch box for the evening snack break, a cooked breakfast, and an animal handling show in the morning. The best part of the night comes as you lay down to sleep in a camp bed in a special camping area around Sophie the Stegosaurus. It’s a sleepover no one will forget! (Except maybe Sophie…)
