20 Cracking Places To Enjoy Crazy Golf In London That Competitive Types Will Love

In recent years, pop-up crazy golf courses have become a bit of a ‘thing.’ They’re dotted throughout central London, up on rooftops, in abandoned WW2 bunkers, shopping malls, parks and even occasional bloody beer gardens! Or head to the outskirts of the city where you can find giant open-air courses with up to 36 holes – and if someone hasn’t had a tantrum after all those, you really aren’t trying. So, without further ado, here’s our rundown of the best places to find crazy golf in London:

⛳️ Inner London Crazy Golf ⛳️

1-4. Plonk Golf (Shoreditch, Camden, Borough Market & London Fields)

For big fun in small spaces, Plonk have set up shop in a variety of spots across London, with a few more rumoured in the pipeline. Each fiendishly tricky course boasts its own theme, including the tropical tiki setup at Camden Market that’s a personal favourite of ours – well, it is just a stone’s throw from the Secret London office after all.

Elsewhere, you can head to their London Fields spot for outdoor chicanery, find them in Shoreditch (which also offers a mean bottomless brunch) or bounce between the course and the various delicious street food stalls at their site in Borough Market. Oh, and since they’re all handily placed for the pub, you can grab a celebratory/commiseration drink when you’re all done.

📍You’ll find Plonk Golf at various different locations in London. You can find out more here

5-6. Swingers (Aldgate and Oxford Circus)

These two multi-million pound courses are a joy to putt on. Swingers in the City is based in a WW2 bunker and is set almost directly underneath the Gherkin, while Swingers West End takes over part of a former department store right off Oxford Circus.

Both venues offer two luxurious nine-hole courses to choose from, along with street food from some of London’s best vendors, such as Patty & Bun and Breddos Tacos. It’s very la-di-da, although due to the free-flowing cocktails (which can be caddied directly to the hole you’re currently tackling), it’s strictly for adults only.

📍You’ll find Swingers at 8 Brown’s Building, London, EC3A 8AL and at 15 St John Prince’s Street, London, W1G 0AB.

7-8. Puttshack (Westfield London & Bank)

This jazzy operation – at the mighty Westfield shopping mall in White City, and nestled right next to Bank Underground station – is London’s most high-tech crazy golf experience. Magical sensors track every tap and flick of the ball, keeping score, assigning turns, and generally enabling some next-level putting action. The inventive challenges draw on beer pong, trivia quizzes, and other unexpected elements for a truly excellent day of crazy golf.

📍You’ll find Puttshack at White City Westfield, Ariel Way, London, W12 7HB and at 1 Poultry, Queen Victoria Street, London, EC2R 8EJ.

9. Junkyard Golf (Shoreditch)

If you’re looking for crazy golf in Shoreditch, then this is the one to go to. Their first crazy golf course was literally built out of random junk, which has since swelled to a UK-spanning empire (you’ll also find them in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Oxford). Their swizzy current set up, which moved in 2020 from Brick Lane to Shoreditch’s Worship Street, delivers no fewer than FOUR nine-hole grungy mini golf courses with lots of UV paint, weird sculptures and even a hall of mirrors, while a bar serves up all your favourite drinks. (There are also a lot of puns that don’t really make any sense!) Again, this one’s really just for grown-ups, folks.

📍You’ll find Junkyard Golf at 88 Worship Street, Hackney, London, EC2A 2BE.

10. Birdies (Battersea)

This cracking crazy golf experience features exciting, wacky obstacles, including pressure pads, rapid lighting and various ramps, twists and tunnels. As part of Battersea Power Station’s huge regeneration project, Birdies opened their immersive crazy golf venue in the railway arches of Circus West Village, whereupon it became an immediate hit. Two cocktail bars – including one halfway round the course – will keep the drinks flowing freely. Perhaps that explains the popularity?

📍You’ll find Birdie’s at 6 Arches Lane, Nine Elms, London, SW11 8AB.

11. Pop Golf (Wembley)

Pop Golf imagines what would happen if MTV launched a golf club, complete with plenty of neon, retro boomboxes, floating cassette tapes, and headphones, all of which are used to convince you that you’ve strayed into a music video. They’re big on music here; not only are the nine holes themed around music videos, but they’ve also got a world-class sound system, and banging playlists to soundtrack your round.

📍You’ll find Pop Golf at BoxPark, 18 Olympic Way, Wembley Park, Wembley, HA9 0JT.

12-15. Putt In The Park (Battersea, Acton, Wandsworth & Gunnersbury Park)

For a classy outdoor putting experience on a rain-free day, pay a visit to one of four Putt In The Park locations at Battersea Park, Acton Park. Gunnersbury Park or Wandsworth Park. They have clubhouse cafés and, by virtue of their park locations, are the perfect complement to an after-game picnic. You can even take a Google tour of the courses on their website! Book yourself a slot via their website, and keep your eyes peeled for a rumoured new two-course site on Clapham Common in the near future.
