Yup, that’s right folks, the No Trousers Tube Ride returned to the capital this year, on January 8, after having been called off for the last two years due to health concerns. And what a return it made. The rumour on the grapevine is that this may be THE LAST No Trousers Tube Ride ever. But, then, surely we can just pick other transport methods to drop-trou on? No Trousers Scooter Days? Perhaps No Trousers River Boat Journey? Or No Trousers IFS Cloud Cable Car Trip?

Regardless of the future of the event, it was surely an alarming day for some, and a hoot for many!

The aim – whimsy, raised brows and a splash of the absurd on an otherwise average January weekend.

In the warm environs of the Underground it’s trousers off…

The event is so popular that participants split into smaller groups to avoid a pasty-skinned pile-up.

They covered routes all over the city, before re-uniting at a pub at the end of the day. Now, we don’t have any photographic evidence from the pubs this, year. In theory they would have put their trousers back on. So here are some more pant-sporting people instead.

Known elsewhere in the world as the No Pants Subway Ride, similar happenings take place in cities around the world, having originated in New York in 2009. Here’s a shot from one of those New York events!

No word, yet, on how quickly the trousers came off once again when participants returned home!
