Chase & Wonder Tuscan Sunset Candle
[unpaid/sample] Thinking about it, I should have photographed this gorgeous candle at sunset, rather than when the sun is just appearing but either way it’s a good reminder that candles can be so much more than a clear glass jar.
That beautiful, meandering river that’s lightly hit with 22 carat gold to give it some glimmer is stunning – I’ve never been to Tuscany so I’ve no idea if it’s completely fantasy or if this place exists somewhere. As you turn the candle more of the view is revealed – olive trees, vineyards and a hill top castle.
In terms of fragrance, it’s predominantly citrussy – lemon, bergamot, neroli and vetivert but throughout there is a seam of jasmine. The throw is pretty good – I could smell it as soon as came into my kitchen after it had burned for only twenty minutes or so which means it is generous quite quickly and remains that way for as long as it’s burning. The wax is a vegan friendly soy. I saw a little note in the description talking about the gold embellishing – the line around the rim is hand painted apparently and I’d like to meet the person with hand so steady it can seamlessly apply the perfect line of gold. I’m sure it should be an Olympic event.
I think what’s especially lovely about these is that they make such perfect wedding gifts because there’s an illustrative theme for any honeymoon travels you can imagine from jungles and country gardens to seashores and forests to make it a refillable keepsake for ever more. I don’t feel, if you count them as more than just a fragrant candle, which I do, they’re too expensive at £58 (refills are £35). Find the collection HERE.
