Pink And Red Nails Are The Colour Clash Mani That’s Currently Trending
It looks like we’re all seriously trying to manifest summer when it comes to our manicures. According to Pinterest, “pink and red nails” have racked up a mahusive 645% increase in searches. We’re just not talking about pink or red nails either (though both are classics), we’re talking about a riotous colour-clash of the two that’s loud, bright and seriously mood-boosting.
Think hot pink, watermelon, fuchsia and Barbie pink duetting with shades of tomato, jam and salsa. “Summer has come early with the pink and red sangria tones,” explains Cult Beauty. “Bright red and pink nails have been going viral on TikTok as well as Pinterest, so why not merge two trends together?”
We’ve seen the look remixed a bunch of different ways from alternate pink and red on each nail, to mix and match gradient tones, squiggle details, red French tips atop a pale pink base and ombre designs merging the two shades into each other.
We love that it’s a little offbeat, but still undeniably stylish. The trick to make it look luxe and considered is ensure that your cuticles are neat and conditioned. And we love the look paired with an ultra glossy top coat.
As for shades and formulas, CND Vinylux is long-lasting and high-shine with plenty of pretty shades like Holographic (a sweetie pink) and Lobster Roll (a coral red). OPI have some smash hits like Red Apple Red (a red carpet red) and Emflowered (a hi-vis Barbie pink) in the Nature Strong formula. And Essie’s magenta-pink Big Spender or fire engine red Russian Roulette make a statement.
